This position is the start of the patient experience and an integral part of the care team. Responsible for answering incoming phone calls for appointment scheduling. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. This position works on-site. Full-time hours available between 36-40 hours per week. Flexibility needed to support clinic hours; 7:30am-6pm Monday-Thursday, and 7:30am-4:00pm Fridays. No nights, weekends, on-call, or holidays.

Key responsibilities:

1. Assists patients in scheduling a variety of appointment types.
2. Monitors follow up appointment work queues.
3. Oversees providers schedules and makes changes when necessary.
4. Sends necessary paperwork and information to patients for appropriate appointment types.
5. Enters patient insurance and demographics in computer system.
6. Communicates with the Business Office regarding insurance coverage and outstanding balances.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

• Effective communication skills: the ability to provide empathy and be supportive to patients
• Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills required; EPIC software preferred
• Attention to detail and great organizational skills
• Independent, self-motivated, and flexible
• Ability to adapt to change and multitask
• Experience in customer service environment; healthcare preferred
